I don't know much about Dirty Gold save for every song I hear takes me on an instant vacation. "California Sunrise" is no exception. Purity Ring is self-dubbed "Future Pop" — the song is a blend of haunted dubby hip-hop and warpy vocals. Future indeed. Also featured — a cover of a great song by arguable '90s powerhouse Sainte Etienne, an ambient remix from Niva, Icona Pop's "Manners" which blew up this year and adds Swede #2 to the mix, famed alt-indie-electro rockers CSS team up with Ratatat for my fave track of summer's end, an '80s throwback, my favorite YACHT track with playful vocals and lyrics, don't know much about Errors except that this song is synthy goodness, and ended it on the groovy, take-me-away sounds that result when Gui Boratto takes on Massive Attack.
